'Sons by the Tons' or No Sons at All?

"God has sons by the tons... 'in the language of the Jew, every righteous person, every Tom, Dick and Harry who followed the Will and Plan of God, was a 'Son of God.' It was a metaphorical descriptive term commonly used among the Jews.'" -- Muslim apologist Ahmed Deedat, (1918-2005)

Ahmed Deedat had a stroke and was incapacitated for 9 years before he
died. Muslim apologists after him continue to use this bad argument, Zakir Naik among them. While Muslims consider Naik and Deedat as Bible "scholars," no one who knows his Bible would ever agree. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Jesus never said He was just another one of God's "sons by the tons." On the contrary, Scripture itself calls Jesus the One and Only Son of God:

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

"Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God." John 3:18

Jesus never said, "I am a son of God."

He said, "I am the Son of God."

  See for yourself:

"... do you say, ‘You are blaspheming’ to the One the Father set apart and sent into the world, because I said: I am the Son of God?" John 10:36

So no surprise that Deedat was wrong about the Bible yet again. But his lack of scholarship doesn't end there. It would appear that he forgot about what his own Allah said in Quran 9:30 (text in italics mine),

"The Jews call Ezra (Uzair in the Arabic) a son of God, and the Christians call the Christ a son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. May Allah destroy them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! (Quran 9:30)

There we have Allah's opinion about the Bible's "sons of God." He does not like them.

Now, if Deedat was right that there is no difference between Jesus, the Son of God, and all the other "tons of God's sons" in the Bible...

If, "in the language of the Jew, every righteous person, every Tom, Dick and Harry who followed the Will and Plan of God, was a 'Son of God...'"

If 'Son of God' was "merely a metaphorical descriptive term commonly used among the Jews..."

then why was Allah so furious with the Jews for calling Uzair "a son of God?"

Why was he so angry that Christians call Jesus a Son of God?

Did Allah not know that God has "sons by the tons" in the Bible?

Don't Muhammad and Muslims claim that Allah wrote the Bible as well as the Quran?

How could Allah not have known what Deedat knew?

The Jews knew what Jesus was saying when He said He was the Son of God...

the Christians knew what He was saying...

even Muhammad and the first Muslims knew that Jesus was saying He was God when He said He was the one and only Son of God, because Muhammad and Allah came up with Quran 9:30 to claim that Jesus wasn't Who He said He was.

  So who is right?

Is it Deedat and his "sons by the tons" argument, or is it Allah? What is the correct Islamic position on this issue? Should we believe Ahmed Deedat, Naik, and Friends, or should we believe Allah and the Quran?

Since Muslims today continue to use the "sons by the tons" argument, I'm guessing they believe Deedat instead of Allah.

But it wasn't just Deedat who made a mistake. Quran 9:30 says (italics mine),

"... the Christians call the Christ a son of God."

  No, we don't.

We never have and never will.

Christians call the Christ the Son of God because He is the One and Only Son of God. (see John 3:16, 18 and 10:36 above)

How could Allah have made such a terrible mistake?

How could he not know what Christians teach if he is the Almighty God?

As for Christians, we aren't one bit confused because we have known the truth for the last 2,000 years. And we know the truth because...

A parting query for Muslims. This is the last part of the Quranic ayah:

"May Allah destroy them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!"

The question is, if the Quran is the word of Allah, then why is Allah making a wish in that verse?

  "May Allah destroy them?"

He makes the same strange statement again in ayah 43:
"May Allah pardon you, [O Muhammad]; why did you give them permission [to remain behind]? [You should not have] until it was evident to you who were truthful and you knew [who were] the liars." Sahih International
"May God forgive you! (Muhammad), why did you not let them join the army so that you could discern the liars from the truthful ones?" Muhammad Sarwar
"May Allah forgive you (O Muhammad SAW). Why did you grant them leave (for remaining behind, you should have persisted as regards your order to them to proceed on Jihad), until those who told the truth were seen by you in a clear light, and you had known the liars?" Mohsin Khan
Why does Allah say this? Doesn't he know what he's going to do with them?

  Just asking.

Your statement that Muslims believe the Quraan & Bible are Gods word is INCORRECT. Yes Muslims believe that the Quraan is the word of God but no Muslim in the world has ever made the statement that the Bible enjoys the same status in their eyes.
please be factual and do not is represent. also Ahmad Deedat had given verse refferences to where the Bible refers to other people as sons.....post them to be fair
